Apache Junction Unified School District is Hiring a 5th Grade Teacher (24/25 School Year) Near Apache Junction, AZ

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor/s/Master's Degree
  • AZ Teaching Certificate
  • AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Appropriately Certified

Core Job Functions:

  • Establish a positive classroom environment conducive to effective instruction and learning
  • Provide learning experiences correlated with approved curriculum and State and District standards
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of each pupil
  • Communicate learning goals to students in a well-planned, organized manner using clear and precise language
  • Facilitate small and large group instruction based on current research-based best practices
  • Use available technology to enhance learning
  • Evaluate student growth
  • Maintain accurate and complete records as required by State/Federal law and District policy
  • Establish oral and/or written lines of communication with guardians to discuss pupil progress
  • Participate in team reviews concerning academic progress of low performing/at-risk students
  • Use site, District, and State assessment data to drive instruction and place students in appropriate instructional and/or intervention programs
  • Effectively implement Individual Education Plans
  • Assume responsibility for the supervision of students on school property or in attendance at school-sponsored activities
  • Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
  • Participate in school-wide events, scheduled meetings, and conferences with guardians
  • Participate in school and District initiatives
  • Maintain professional competence through participation in District provided professional development sessions and/or self-selected professional growth activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the District or school site

Physical Requirements:

  • Teaching positions typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, fingering, standing, walking, pushing, reaching, lifting, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
  • Employees may be subject to travel, body fluids, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, workspace restrictions, variant temperatures, and intense noise.
  • Employees may be required to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pound of force constantly to move objects.
